A fifth generation East Texan from Nacogdoches, Texas, Lori moved to Miami, Florida freshly out of graduating Number 1 at Baylor Law School following her two years of service clerking for the late Judge Sam D. Johnson on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Lori literally grew up in the law, born during her late father’s first semester of law school and working for him in his law firm and title companies East Texas Title & Abstract and East Texas Land Title Services since she was eight.
Lori spent the first half of her legal career with Florida legal giant Holland & Knight where she was assigned as a young associate to the firm’s founder and principal architect Chesterfield Smith and worked her way to equity partnership specializing in Corporate, Regulatory & Public Law, leaving in 2005 to form her own boutique regulatory & policy firm focusing on Healthcare accessibility, accountability, finance & quality issues on behalf of health care providers, employees and retirees. She served as general counsel to Florida’s largest pharmacy professional association and also to another association representing the state’s largest employee and retiree groups.
Following the unexpected death of her husband, the late Senator Greg Evers, Lori refocused her law practice on assisting veterans, families, retirees, seniors and special need clients navigate the growing complexities of a healthcare, retirement & long term care benefits system that us rapidly & dramatically changing. She puts her award-winning legal knowledge and advocacy skills and her accomplished legal record to work every day for real people with real problems seeking real solutions.
